-It is so hot!!! I love the summer and I love being hot but this is ridiculous! This heat done woke me up out my sleep (and has also, apparently, confounded my grammar). Lemme go turn this AC on. Global warming is real.
-If a glock holds 15 rounds and 90 rounds were fired at Jayland Walker, that means at some point, somebody had to reload. No part of that is not a hate crime.
-Every time I look at these hearings around the January 6th riots (because they were “riots”), all I can think about is how if my forever president was in office when it happened & the persons implicated were black, there would be no trials at all. The National Guard would have been there a day early, half of the mob (because they were a “mob”) would have been shot, the system would have built a new prison named the Obama Correctional Facility & everyone involved (including him) would have been sentenced to quadruple life. White supremacy was on parade that day, the social construct of whiteness informs much of the way that moment is seen (i.e. riot vs insurrection) and white supremacy is on trial right now.
-I feel some type of way about the music I loved as a teenager & young adult now either being on “oldie” playlists or being sampled to make newer music. It’s weird…almost like I’m getting…oh snap!
-The overturning of Roe v. Wade is both absurd & frustratingly familiar. Hmm…where I have I seen a country dictate to a specific set of people what they are to do with their bodies while warping the will & word of God to justify it? *cough* Slavery.
-I mean it is really hot…and it is still dark outside! Every day, another record for hottest day of the year is set. I bet I’m putting my thermostat on “Antartica” and keeping it there until November. Global warming is real.
-I have way too many people in my contact list that I either do not talk to, do not want to talk to or cannot talk to anymore. I really should start deleting these. What am I holding on to that I need to let go of?
-Sometimes, the biggest obstacle in the way of church ministry is the messiness of church members. i know it’s a “hospital” but that doesn’t mean people should be infected while they are there either. It isn’t judgment to make this observation.
-I feel like I moved my bed to the core of the Earth. This can’t be life! Why is it so hot? Lemme go check this thing to see if it is working. Oh…oops…wrong switch! Well, at least I know the heat works. Good thing I figured that out…otherwise, Global Warming would have been on my mind as an issue to raise (yawn)…Now, I can just keep myself cool…with no worries about the world getting hotter (yawn)…No need me stressing about Climate Change. But what if the science was right? And the world was actually getting hotter… that would be (yawn)…dangerous….zzzzzzz
